Wrestling Hero Film Tiger Mask’s 1st Trailer, Visuals Unveiled
Kitaro’s Eiji Wentz, Gantz’s Natsuna, Zebraman’s Aikawa in update of Ikki Kajiwara’s classic manga

The first special trailer video for the live-action film adaptation of Ikki Kajiwara’s classic wresting hero manga Tiger Mask debuted on Saturday. The Eiga.com website also unveiled the first visual images of singer/actor Eiji Wentz (Gegege no Kitarō, Brave Story) as the titular hero. Natsuna Watanabe (Kimi ni Todoke, Gantz) co-stars as the heroine Ruriko, and Show Aikawa (Tokyo Zombie, Zebraman) plays Mister X.
"Tiger Mask" is the alter ego of the character Naoto Date, a pro wrestler who goes against an evil wrestling organization and fights for children in an orphanage. In the new setup for the film, Date dons a special suit and "transforms" into Tiger Mask with enhanced mobility and muscle strength. His mask has also been redesigned with a nod to American comic action heroes such as Spider-Man and Batman.

Ouran High School Host Club (Live-Action) Cast and Time Slot Announced…

On Tuesday, additional cast details were announced, confirming several names that were unofficially reported before.

As previously revealed, Yamamoto is playing the role of Tamaki, the president of the host club, while Kawaguchi is playing the central character Haruhi. The other cast members are being played by:

  • Nakamura Masaya – Mori
  • Daito Shunsuke – Kyoya
  • Takagi Shinpei and Takagi Manpei – Hitachiin twins
  • Chiba Yudai – Honey
  • Ryusei Ryo – Umehito

TBS will broadcast the series in the “Friday Break” time slot (Friday night, 12:20am), beginning in July. More details will be released at a later date.

12:20 am?!? Are you freaking kidding me? They should just replace the Hana Kimi remake with this, in my opinion… I mean that show’s already been done (just 4 years ago)  :/ Disappointed. I was really excited to see it too. I hope it’ll be of quality, still.
